Terms
- Only 1 plan permitted per Vodafone SIM connection at any one time. Plans may be modified or withdrawn by Vodafone at any time.
- The following services are not charged as Standard Calls: national and international video calls, international calls and roaming, national roaming into non-Vodafone coverage areas, 1900, “18”, premium and other special numbers and services such as 1223 – Directory Assistance, 123 – Ask us anything, Mobile commerce transactions and Vodafone live! content.
- All prices and credit expiry periods are current as of August 2007 and are subject to change. For full terms and conditions of, and a full price list for accessing and using, the plans and other services, refer to the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement at vodafone.com.au. Further information on Vodafone services is also available at vodafone.com.au and in the Vodafone Joining Booklet.
- A compatible handset is required to use 3G services, GPRS, Vodafone live! services, PXT® and Video PXT®, Video Calling and other special services. Certain services, such as PXT® also require the person you are calling to have a compatible handset.
- Vodafone services are subject to network limitations and availability and individual handset capabilities. 3G services are only available in 3G coverage areas when you have a 3G capable device. Certain 3G services such as video calling, will also depend on the coverage area and handset capability of the person you are calling. - Handsets purchased through Vodafone outlets in Australia may be locked to the Vodafone network. A fee may apply for unlocking selected handsets, visit vodafone.com.au or call 1555 from your mobile for more details.
- Vodafone World™ - higher rates apply when using international roaming. To activate international roaming, contact Vodafone customer care at least 72 hours prior to departure. A security deposit may be required. Some Vodafone services may not be available whilst roaming in some countries.
- Mobile Payment Plan is available on Contract and On Account only. Terms and conditions apply, visit vodafone.com.au for more details.
B Contract – Caps, Hot Plans and Talk&TXT
- Contract Caps, Hot Plans and Talk&TXT are available to eligible credit approved customers who Post Pay (eligible Vodafone SIM customers). A maximum of 4 connections to any of the Contracts is permitted per eligible Vodafone SIM customer. When you connect to a Contract you enter a fixed term agreement with Vodafone, refer to the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement for more details.
- Contract Caps have a commitment period of 12 or 24 months. Contract Hot Plans and Talk&TXT have a commitment period of 24 months. Subject to the plan change rules below, you must remain connected to your selected Contract during your commitment period. If you do not remain connected to your selected Contract for your commitment period, you must pay an Early Exit Fee.
- Your Early Exit Fee is calculated as 50% of the minimum monthly spend of the Contract that you are on at the time of termination, multiplied by the remaining months left of your commitment period. Payment of your Early Exit Fee is in addition to any outstanding mobile handset payments and any call costs which have been incurred prior to the termination date. The Early Exit Fee for each of the Contracts is set out in the table below.
- Contracts each have a minimum monthly spend which is set out in the table below. The minimum cost to you of your Contract is calculated by multiplying the minimum monthly spend by the commitment period. The minimum cost of each of the Contracts is set out in the table below.
- If you are an existing On Account customer and you connect to a Contract, your agreement with Vodafone (including your obligation to pay an Early Exit Fee) starts on the date you connect to that Contract but your plan change and commitment period will not commence until your next billing period. If you are an existing Prepay customer and you connect to a Contract, your agreement with Vodafone (including your obligation to pay an Early Exit Fee), your commitment period and your plan change starts on the date you are connected to that Contract and all prior credit is forfeited.
- You may request to change between Contracts only once per month by calling 1555. If you do this, you must accept the terms of your new Contract. You may change to selected Contracts with a higher monthly spend during your commitment period without incurring a Plan Change or Early Exit Fee (in relation to your current Contract) and without changing your commitment period. If you change to selected Contracts with a lower monthly spend during your current commitment period, a Plan Change Fee (multiplied by the remaining months left of your current commitment period) may apply. The applicable Plan Change Fees are specified in the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement. You may change back up or down to your original Contract during your commitment period without incurring a Plan Change or Early Exit Fee.
- You may suspend your Contract for between 1-3 months for a monthly fee of $11, provided that your account is not overdue. If you request suspension of your Contract, the period of the suspension will be added to your commitment period. Suspension of your Contract is available only once during your commitment period.
- Any free or discounted mobile handset offers are only available from Vodafone’s selected mobile handset range when you connect to a Contract and cannot be redeemed for cash or as a credit against your call costs with Vodafone. These mobile handset offers are not available if you switch your Contract during your commitment period.

C Contract – Caps Bonus Packs
- If you select a Cap on a 24 month contract term you will be eligible to receive one of 4 bonus packs. Only one bonus pack will be permitted per Cap at any one time. Credit awarded with the bonus packs will be subject to the same one month expiry period as your chosen Cap.
- If you choose the 100 free minutes to call other Vodafone mobiles bonus pack, these minutes can only be used on calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia. The Standard Call rate will apply to calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia once you have used up your quantity of free Vodafone to Vodafone minutes.
- If you choose the 100 free TXT bonus pack, these free TXT can only be used on Standard TXT. The Standard TXT rate will apply to Standard TXT sent once you have used up your quantity of free TXT.
- If you choose the 50% off international calls bonus pack, the 50% will be taken off Vodafone’s standard international call rate (not including the connection fee, which will be charged at the full rate) charged by Vodafone at the time you make the international call. Please note that the cost for international calls will be charged in addition to your Cap’s minimum monthly spend and is not included in the credit awarded with your Cap.
- If you choose the donation to charity bonus pack, Vodafone will donate from its own funds, an amount equivalent to 5% of the cost of your Cap to a Vodafone approved environment or youth charity for the duration of your 24 month contract term. Vodafone may decide, in its own discretion, to stop donations to the chosen charity, for example, if your account is suspended, limited or terminated, for failure to pay your bills, if you port to another network and on the expiration of your 24 month contract. If you choose the donation to charity bonus pack, you will need to accept paperless (electronic) bills.
- You can change your selected bonus pack up to 4 times per year without incurring any additional fees. Any additional changes will incur a fee of $10.00 per bonus pack change.
D Contract – Hot Plans Bonus Packs
- If you select one of our Hot Plans, only one bonus pack will be permitted per Hot Plan at any one time. The number of free TXT, free Vodafone to Vodafone minutes or free Night-Time minutes awarded with the bonus pack is based on the Hot Plan selected. Credit awarded with the bonus packs will be subject to the same one month expiry period as your chosen Hot Plan.
- When you select one of our Hot Plans and choose the TXT bonus pack, your free TXT can only be used on Standard TXT. The Standard TXT rate will apply to Standard TXT sent once you have used up your quantity of free TXT.
- When you select one of our Hot Plans and choose the Vodafone to Vodafone Minutes bonus pack, your free Vodafone to Vodafone minutes can only be used on calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia. The Standard Call rate will apply to calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia once you have used up your quantity of free Vodafone to Vodafone minutes.
- When you select one of our Hot Plans and choose the Night-Time bonus pack, your free Night-Time minutes can only be used on Standard Calls made between 8pm and 8am (the Standard Call Rate will apply to Standard Calls made between 8am and 8pm). The Standard Call rate will also apply to Standard Calls made between 8pm and 8am, once you have used up your quantity of free Night-Time minutes.
- You can change your selected bonus pack up to 4 times per year without incurring any additional fees. Any additional changes will incur a fee of $10.00 per bonus pack change.
E On Account – Caps, Hot Plans and Talk&TXT
- On Account Caps, Hot Plans and Talk&TXT are available to eligible credit approved customers who Post Pay (eligible Vodafone SIM customers). A maximum of 4 connections to any On Account Cap, Hot Plan and Talk&TXT plan is permitted per Vodafone SIM customer. When you connect to an On Account Cap, Hot Plan or Talk&TXT plan you enter a month by month agreement with Vodafone which you can terminate at any time, refer to the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement for more details.
- Please see the table on On Account webpage for rates and minimum monthly spends applicable to On Account Caps, Hot Plans and Talk&TXT. When changing from an On Account Cap, Hot Plan or Talk&TXT plan to any other Vodafone plan, any discounted call and TXT rates and any free minutes and TXT cease to apply and any unused credit is forfeited immediately.
F Other things you should know if you post pay (Contract and On Account)
- If you select a postpay plan, the included call value that is awarded monthly with your chosen plan will appear on your bill as a credit. Actual call charges may vary on your statement as each call charge is rounded up to the nearest cent before GST is included. All prices are subject to change.
- Credit awarded with Contract and On Account Caps can only be used on: Standard Calls, Standard Video Calls, ‘13’, ‘15’ and ‘18’ numbers, National Roaming, Standard and International TXT, Mobile Internet (excluding Vodafone live! chat), Voicemail, 1223-Directory Assistance, 123- Ask us anything (excluded and charged on top of Cap for $49 Cap only), Standard and International PXT®, Standard and International Video PXT® and Vodafone live! surfing. If your usage of these services exceeds the credit awarded with the Cap you are on, you will be charged your minimum monthly spend and for any of the services used above the credit awarded, plus any excluded services.
- Calls and services for which you will be charged in addition to your Cap’s minimum monthly spend and which are not included in the credit awarded with the Contract and On Account Caps include International Calls (including International Video Calling), International Roaming, 123- Ask us anything (charged on top of Cap for $49 Cap only), Vodafone live! downloads and My Vodafone content purchases, Vodafone live! chat, Special Numbers and Premium Services, such as Premium TXT (eg. TXT voting and TXT competitions), premium numbers (eg. 1900 numbers and competitions) and mobile commerce transactions.
- Credit awarded with Hot Plan Contracts can only be used on: Standard and International Calls, ‘13’, ’15’ and ‘18’ numbers, calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia; National Roaming, Standard and International TXT, Standard and International Video Calling, Voicemail, 1223-Directory Assistance, 123- Ask us anything, Standard and International PXT®, Standard and International Video PXT® , Vodafone live! surfing and Mobile Internet. If your usage of these services exceeds the credit awarded with the Hot Plan Contracts, you will be charged the minimum monthly spend of your Hot Plan Contract and for any of the services used above the credit awarded (plus any excluded services).
- Calls and services for which you will be charged in addition to your Hot Plan’s minimum monthly spend and which are not included in the credit awarded with Hot Plan Contracts include calls to Special or Premium Numbers (eg 1900 numbers, competitions and mobile commerce transactions), International Roaming, Vodafone live! downloads or content purchases and My Vodafone content purchases, Call Screen and Premium TXT (eg. TXT voting and TXT competitions).
- Credit awarded with the Contract and On Account Talk&TXT plan can be used for all Vodafone call types and services as set out in the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement. Calls not classified as Standard Calls will be charged at applicable rates. Go to the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement or phone Customer Service for information about specific call rates applicable to calls not classified as Standard Calls.
- Vodafone to Vodafone minutes available on Talk&TXT Contract and On Account Plans have a connection cost of 20c per call to calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers in Australia. The Standard Call rate will apply to calls made to other Vodafone mobiles within Australia once you have used up your quantity of Vodafone to Vodafone minutes.
- Monthly credit which is not used by end of the monthly billing period or when you terminate your agreement with Vodafone is forfeited. Monthly credit represents the GST inclusive value of calls.
- When you choose your postpay plan you will be allocated to a bill cycle shortly after you connect. Your minimum monthly spend is payable for each full monthly billing period in advance and is non-refundable unless the service is suspended for a significant period of time. Additional call usage charges are billed at the end of each monthly billing period. Once allocated to a bill cycle, you may receive a first bill within 1 to 7 days to cover that period. As you will not have commenced your first full billing period, your minimum monthly spend and any credit awarded will be calculated on a pro rata basis. Any unused credit awarded will be forfeited after this time. Your first bill will also contain your minimum monthly spend for the next full monthly billing period and any charges for any excluded calls you make during that initial period. Once you commence your full monthly billing period, the one month credit expiry period will apply.
- Vodafone will provide you with a monthly bill for your account. Your bill will be in the format you request at the time you connect to Vodafone. You may change the format of your monthly bill or request an additional monthly bill by calling 1555 from your mobile. Charges may apply. (24 month Contract Cap customers who choose the donation to charity bonus pack excluded, as these customers must accept paperless billing as a condition of being eligible for this bonus pack).
Prepay

H Prepay – Caps and Plans
- Prepay Caps and Plans are available to eligible customers who prepay (eligible Vodafone SIM customers). When you connect to a Prepay Cap or Plan you enter an agreement with Vodafone which you can terminate at any time, refer to the Vodafone Standard Form of Agreement for more details.
- Prepay Caps and Plans are available at connection and upon recharge. If a particular Prepay Cap or Plan is not selected, your account will default to the TXTer plan (unless you purchased your connection pack at a Woolworths Group or Coles Group store in which case you default to the Talker plan).
- Please see the Prepay webpage for credit awarded with each Prepay Cap.
- Credit awarded with the Prepay Jumbo Cap, Maxi Cap, Super Cap and Mega Cap can only be used on calls and services listed in the table on the Prepay Cap webpage. These include: Standard Calls and Standard Video Calls, International Calls and International Video Calls and ‘13’, ‘15’ and ‘18’ numbers, Standard and International TXT, Voicemail, 1223 - Directory Assistance, 123-ask us anything, PXT®, Video PXT®, Vodafone live! surfing and Vodafone live! content downloads (limited to $15 on Maxi Cap, $25 on Super Cap and $50 on Mega Cap; there is no included allowance for Vodafone live! content downloads on the Jumbo Cap).
- Credit awarded with the Prepay Jumbo Cap, Maxi Cap, Super Cap and Mega Cap cannot be used on excluded calls and services listed on the Prepay Cap webpage. These excluded calls and services include National Roaming and International Roaming, Mobile Internet, Vodafone live! chat, special numbers and Premium Services, including Premium TXT (eg TXT voting and TXT competitions), Vodafone live! content purchases (over and above the included allowance of $15 on Maxi Cap, $25 on Super Cap and $50 on Mega Cap; there is no included allowance for Vodafone live! content downloads on the Jumbo Cap), My Vodafone content downloads and TXT while roaming, competitions and mobile commerce transactions.
- Credit awarded with Prepay Caps which is not used by end of the 30 day expiry period, before your next recharge or when you terminate your agreement with Vodafone, is forfeited. If you choose to Autopay, a 1 month expiry period will apply.
- When changing from a Prepay Cap to any other plan or from a Prepay Plan to a postpay plan, nothing carries over. When changing from a Prepay Plan to any of the Prepay Caps, anything carried over must be used within the 30 day expiry period (1 month for Autopay) or before the next recharge.
- On the TXTer plan only Standard TXT is deducted from the quantity of free TXT awarded. The Standard TXT rate will apply to Standard TXT sent once you have used up your quantity of free Standard TXT.
- On the Talker plan, discounted call rates apply only to Standard Calls. A call connection fee of 20c also applies. The call rate for Standard Calls that corresponds to your most recent recharge value will apply to your entire Prepay account balance.
- On the Night Talker plan, the Standard Call rate will apply to Standard Calls made between 8am and 8pm. Your free Night Talker minutes can only be used for Standard Calls between 8pm and 8am. Once you have used up your free Night Talker minutes, the Standard Call rate will apply to standard calls and your Vodafone to Vodafone minutes (if there are any remaining) can be used for calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia.
- Vodafone to Vodafone minutes apply a call rate of 20c to calls made to other Vodafone mobile numbers within Australia. The Standard Call rate will apply once you have used up your Vodafone to Vodafone minutes.
- For Prepay Plans, your account must be recharged within 60 days (or 365 days if on the 365 Days Plan) of connection or last recharge otherwise any unused free Standard TXT, free Night Talker minutes, credit and Vodafone to Vodafone Minutes in your Prepay Plan will expire.
- You can continue to accumulate up to 7200 free Standard TXT, $1000 of credit, 5000 free Night Talker minutes and 5000 Vodafone to Vodafone minutes, at any one time, provided you recharge your account at least every 60 days (or 365 days if on the 365 Days Plan).
- Some Vodafone services (eg data services and call diversions except to Voicemail) may not be available on Prepay, visit vodafone.com.au for more details.
I Extras Packs
- You may add an Extras Pack to any Prepay Plan. You may recharge your Extras Pack with certain denominations of credit at any time, provided your Prepay Plan itself is in credit. Your Extras Pack credit will not expire as long as your Prepay Plan is active.
- Your Extras Pack credit can only be used when your Prepay Plan is in credit, and can only be used for the following services:
(1) International Calls including International Video Calls;
(2) Premium TXT (eg TXT voting and TXT competitions); and
(3) Mobile Internet.
- Your Extras Pack credit can only be used when your Jumbo Cap, Maxi Cap, Super Cap or Mega Cap is in credit and can only be used for the following services:
(1) Premium TXT (eg Txt voting and Txt competitions),
(2) Mobile Internet.
- If you are on a Prepay Plan, other than a Prepay Jumbo Cap, Maxi Cap, Super Cap or Mega Cap, the services listed in paragraph 63 will first be charged against your Extras Pack credit; and when your Extras Pack credit is used up, these services will then be charged against your Prepay Plan credit.
